A Warm Welcome to the Hanseatic Day 2022 in Neuss

Neuss was host to the 42nd International Hanseatic Day from May 26–29 2022. For four days, the city centre of Neuss overflowed with concerts, lectures, markets and many other events for all to enjoy. Some 1,000 delegates from 16 countries as well as thousands of visitors from Germany and abroad came to celebrate the modern day Hanseatic League along with the residents of Neuss.

Welcome to Neuss, a modern age Hanseatic city.

Revived as the New Hanseatic League, the modern day Hanse has set itself the task of maintaining the spirit of the Hanseatic League as a societal and cultural community of cities. Through cultivating tradition and lively exchange of ideas between its member cities, the League aims to contribute to the economic, cultural, social and national unification of Europe. Today, the community comprises 195 cities in 16 countries of Northern Europe, making it the largest voluntary association of its kind.
